Datacentres - why they should be Irish based
12/08/09Datacentres - why they should be Irish based 12.08.09
Firstly from a legal data protection point of view, the data protection act states that Irish company data should be backed up off-site and kept within Ireland.
Secondly from a customers perspective it is much more beneficial to them if their data is stored locally - think about the restore time. If there is a case of a full server crash the restore can be shipped out with a hard drive immediately. If your data is being stored in a datacentre overseas how is it feasibly possible to get your data back to you in record speed??
Beware: Not all data centres in Ireland are built to the same standards. For more information about data centre standards you can email info@onlinebackup.ie
